Almost Home!

This was Jonathan's smiling face when I told him that tomorrow I would be picking him up and taking him home. The day has arrived. Our waiting time and paperwork in Astana is done and we are leaving first thing Sunday morning for Almaty.

We'll go to the baby house about 11am and pick him up, bring him back to the apartment. We'll leave for the airport about 8:30am the next day for the 1 1/2 hour flight to Almaty.

Once there, we'll have his medical check up on Monday at the clinic to clear him for the flight to America. Wednesday we'll go to the US Embassy and complete even more paperwork. Thursday we'll pick up said paperwork and our flight leaves about 1am Saturday morning.

After stopping Frankfurt, Cindy, Jonathan and I will fly to Chicago, where once we step on American soil, Jonathan becomes a US citizen. (Wait, does that mean dirt? grass? the airport tile?) We should arrive in Los Angeles Saturday afternoon.

Countdown time!

I was struck by the thought that Jonathan is undergoing a truly life changing expierence and he is totaly unaware of it.
